Impact aims to expose the ever-present tension between opposites—lightness and weight—while focusing on the balance achieved through their confluence. This is a series of sculptures made out of rocks, sand, aluminum foil, and resin. The process involves layering several sheets of aluminum coated with resin on top of a pile of sand.
A rock is then thrown and pressed onto the metal surface, which bends as space does with matter under the force of gravity. The resin within the sculpture cures after the impact, allowing the foil to behave like a gravitational field. It freezes this moment in time, making intangible phenomena visible.
The impact between antipodes becomes the story of an object in levitation that transcends time, translating into an apparent order emerging from a degree of disorder.
